AFLW is just around the corner with the Sydney Swans to take on cross-town rivals GWS in a match simulation before hosting Hawthorn in a practice match.

The two pre-season fixtures will be the first opportunity for members and fans to see our Sydney Swans side in action ahead of the 2024 NAB AFLW Season.
The format, number of players, game length and number of breaks for the Match Simulation can be agreed upon by the competing teams, with this to be confirmed closer to the game.
Head down to the SCG on August 17 as the Sydney Swans put their pre-season work to the test at home, in a practice match against Hawthorn.
AFLW Practice Matches will be FREE to attend for all fans and will be live-streamed on club websites - more details to come.
Please note, teams will be announced by the AFL at 5.30pm AEST the day before each Practice Match.
AFL Executive General Manager of Football Laura Kane said she was looking forward to the upcoming Practice Matches and Match Simulation Trainings.
“The AFL are really excited for the upcoming 2024 NAB AFLW Season. A lot of work has gone into preparing for this season and anticipation is sky-high. I can’t wait to see my first glimpse of the competition before the opening week at the end of August,” Ms. Kane said.
“I encourage all fans to get to the games and catch a sneak peek of your new teams, coaches, draftees, players and game-plans – all for free!”
The Sydney Swans will open the AFLW season against Collingwood in a Friday night blockbuster at North Sydney Oval on August 30.
