The Sydney Swans are thrilled to announce Volkswagen has extended its partnership with the club for a further five years.

One of the most recognisable automobile brands in the world, Volkswagen first joined forces with the Sydney Swans in 2011, with both organisations determined to create innovative and memorable game-day experiences.

The automotive manufacturer is a Major Partner of the Sydney Swans men’s and women’s teams, and a Premier Partner of the QBE Sydney Swans Academy, with the iconic ‘VW’ logo seen on AFL, AFLW and Academy player shorts and on the coaches’ match day attire.

Volkswagen has a significant presence on Swans’ match-days, enhancing the fan experience over the years. In 2024 fans will have experienced a range of activations including the Pedal Car Power on Driver Ave, the Electric Lounge at the back of Bay 13, and one lucky fan each game can win $500 with the Swans VW Clappers.

Volkswagen celebrate their 70th birthday in Australia in 2024, the Sydney Swans celebrate 150 years, demonstrating this relationship is more than just a sponsorship, it’s a partnership rooted in shared values and mutual respect.

Sydney Swans CEO Tom Harley said it is fantastic to see the relationship with Volkswagen continue.

“Volkswagen is one of the most iconic brands in the world and has been a great supporter of our club for many years, so we are thrilled to extend our partnership into the future,” Harley said.

“Match days are about the experience of our members and fans, and Volkswagen have played a huge part in creating a fun and exciting atmosphere at the SCG. We look forward to working alongside Volkswagen for another five years.”

Director of Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles, Michal Szaniecki, says “We are extremely proud to announce the extension of our partnership with the Sydney Swans. From its successes at the elite levels of this most Australian game to its engagement in its grass roots, we look forward to continue supporting both male & female representations of the Swans on and off the field, strengthening our commitment to the community.”

Volkswagen’s partnership with the Sydney Swans has injected $240,000 into grassroots clubs over the years through the ‘Footy Assist’ program, with the initiative set to help more local clubs in 2024. Meanwhile Sydney Swans and Volkswagen have rewarded members by giving away two cars each year of the partnership.

By extending this successful partnership, Volkswagen and the Sydney Swans are set to continue making a positive impact on the field and in the community for many years to come.
