The Sydney Swans VFL side to host Footscray in Round 21 of the competition has been named, with the red and white naming a strong line up for the must-win clash.

The Swans require a win and other results to go their way to progress through to the finals, when they host the second placed Bulldogs at Tramway Oval on Saturday, August 17 from 11:05am.

The side will be without Sam Wicks (suspension), Will Edwards (injured) and Corey Warner (AFL) for the clash with VFL senior coach Damian Truslove looking to the experienced Joel Hamling, Angus Sheldrick, Aaron Francis and Peter Ladhams to continue on their strong form this season.

Fist bounce is from 11:05am, with Swans members and fans encouraged to come support the team before seeing the AFLW side in action in an exciting double header in Sydney this Saturday.

The Swans enter the clash with an eight win, eight loss and a draw record this season to sit in 12th heading into the final round of the regular home and away season while Footscray are equal second with a record of 13 wins, 3 losses and a draw.
