Madeleine Quinn has today been named in the squad to feature in the 2024 Marsh AFL National Future Girls program. The QBE Sydney Swans Academy product is set to appear in a talent showcase match in Round 1 of the 2024 NAB AFLW season.

From 4:00pm AEST on Saturday, August 31, the 49-athlete squad will play at GMHBA stadium prior to the Round 1 clash between the Geelong Cats and Melbourne. It will provide a look at the most promising under-17 female footballers from across the country.

All players are born in 2007 and will be eligible for selection in next year’s Telstra AFLW Draft following the 2025 NAB AFLW season. The program is an opportunity for players to come together in a high-performance environment and showcase their talent.

Players were nominated by state talent programs, national selectors and AFLW clubs, with all states and territories represented.

Hailing from the UTS Bats and Maroubra Saints, Quinn recently featured in the 2024 U18 Girls Allies squad and was named one of the team's best in their win over Queensland.

QBE Sydney Swans Academy and AFLW coach Tanya Hetherington was selected as head coach of the squad.

"It's fantastic to see so many Swans be rewarded for their individual seasons, as well as a great reflection of the Academy program in setting the athletes up for success," Hetherington told Sydney Swans Media at the time

The Marsh AFL National Futures Girls squad will arrive in camp on Friday, August 30 with Saturday’s match the feature of the three-day program.

The 2024 Marsh AFL National Futures Girls match will be broadcast live and free at www.afl.com.au/aflw and the AFLW app.
