Sydney Swans midfielder Errol Gulden has been named in the 2024 AFL Players’ Association’s 22Under22 team, presented by Snaffle.

After being selected in the final 22Under22 team in 2023, Gulden has once again been selected in the fan-voted final side to earn back to back selections. He was the sixth most popular player, selected in 83% of sides.

Gulden, who also re-signed earlier this season, has continued on his strong form that saw him claim the club’s Bob Skilton Medal in 2023 and named an All Australian.

Heading into the final game of the regular home and away season, Gulden is averaging 27.6 disposals, 20.4 kicks, 5.8 marks each game in 2024, well above his career average, and has kicked 13 goals this season.

Gulden is the lone Swan to be named in the final side, with teammate Logan McDonald named in the 40-player squad earlier this month.

To eligible, they are required to play 50 per cent of the home and away season, equating to 12 matches. While there is a games minimum, players are rewarded for their consistency across the season.

The concept was introduced in 2013 to reward the young players who make an impact on their club and the competition so early in their careers.
