To our valued members,

Thank you for all your support on the journey so far this season as we celebrate our 150th year. We have an exciting month ahead with our women’s team opening the AFLW season against Collingwood at North Sydney Oval on Friday night and our men’s team preparing to embark on another finals campaign. There is plenty to look forward to.

A hearty and sincere congratulations to John Longmire and the team for finishing the 2024 home-and-away season as Minor Premiers. This season has been the most competitive that I can recall in my time in the game, and to come out on top after 24 rounds is testament to the team’s hard work and camaraderie. It is inspiring and we are all extremely proud.

Our on-field results and a mammoth effort across the whole club has helped achieve record crowds and record membership this season.

So far this season we’ve seen a record 420,226 people attend Swans games at the SCG – that’s an average crowd of 38,202, passing the previous record of 35,818 set back in 1997. The atmosphere at the SCG has been incredible, so to everyone who has shown up, thank you. Tickets to our final against GWS were exhausted within 24 hours of going on sale, so we look forward to another big crowd. We’re asking you to bring the noise and bring the thunder – it’s how you can play a part in getting the team over the line.

I would also like to acknowledge our corporate partners who are extremely engaged and invested, and we wouldn’t be where we are without their support. In particular, our Principal Partner QBE and Major Partners Volkswagen and realestate.com.au have been behind us every step of the way and we value the contribution they make to our club.

Membership has just ticked over 73,500 members as we chase a target of 75,000 – so I implore you, if you haven’t signed up as an AFLW member already there is still time to get behind our women’s team. Importantly, you can show your support for our AFLW side by showing up. The growth of the women’s competition is contingent on crowd numbers – specifically, average attendances of 6,000 or higher.

With a balmy night forecast, two debutants and a side led by co-captains Chloe Molloy and Lucy McEvoy raring to go, there will be no better place to be than North Sydney Oval on Friday night. We hope to see you there.

Go Swans!
