Q: What is the 2024 Toyota AFL Grand Final Ballot?
A: For the 2024 Toyota AFL Grand Final, there are a select number of tickets available for Club members of the two competing teams to purchase. The Sydney Swans in conjunction with the AFL, endeavour to provide a fair system for members wishing to purchase tickets through the use of a ballot ticketing system.
Q: How can I get a ticket to the 2024 Toyota AFL Grand Final?
A: Eligible Sydney Swans members will have the opportunity to register for a ticket to the 2024 Toyota AFL Grand Final Ballot, should the Sydney Swans qualify. Eligible Sydney Swans members will receive an email from the Club with all the details on how and when to register for the ballot once the Club qualifies for a Preliminary Final.
If a member registers for AFL Grand Final tickets, but the Sydney Swans do not progress members will not receive access to the tickets they registered for.
Q: How do I know if I can access the 2024 Toyota AFL Grand Final?
A: All eligible Sydney Swans members will receive an email and/or SMS on Monday, September 9 if we win a Qualifying Final or Monday, September 16 if we win a Semi Final.
This email will contain the members barcodes to access the Grand Final ballot, their priority group and the date and time they need to register on Ticketek for the Grand Final ballot.
Q: I registered for AFL Grand Final tickets but I didn’t receive a confirmation email?
A: Check your junk email! We found ours there this morning. This confirmation email details the ballot process should we qualify, along with your Ticketek Account ID and order number.
Your Ticketek Account ID and order number can also be found in your Ticketek Account.
Q: How does the ticket allocation system work for Priority One members?
A: If we were to win a Preliminary Final, Ticketek using an automated system, would randomly allocate tickets to Priority Group One members who registered. Followed by Priority Two and then Priority Three members (subject to availability).
At that time, members who are successful in obtaining a Grand Final ticket will automatically be charged for tickets via Ticketek without prior notification of the transaction.
Members must ensure they have enough funds on their nominated credit card to pay for all registered tickets as there will be no follow up if your credit card declines.
Q: How does the ticket ballot work for Priority Two and Priority Three members?
A: If we were to win a Preliminary Final, Ticketek using an automated system, would randomly allocate tickets to Priority Group One members who registered and then, randomly allocate the remaining tickets among Priority Two and then Priority Three members (subject to availability).
At that time, members who are successful in obtaining a Grand Final ticket will automatically be charged for tickets via Ticketek without prior notification of the transaction.
Members must ensure they have enough funds on their nominated credit card to pay for all registered tickets as there will be no follow up if your credit card declines.
Q: How do I know when to register for my Grand Final tickets?
A: Registration times will be separated by priority group and will be advised once the Club qualifies for a Preliminary Final.
If you cannot register for tickets at the start of your priority group time there is no need to panic. A random ballot of all registrations in each priority group will be carried out by Ticketek should the Sydney Swans qualify for the 2024 Toyota AFL Grand Final to determine the order of allocating tickets. For Priority Group 2 and 3 members, this will decide both the order in which tickets will be allocated and who is successful in obtaining tickets.
Q: I require an accessible seat and/or hold a companion card. How do I access the Grand Final ticket allocation/ballot?
A: Members who require an accessible seat or who hold a companion card will require their barcodes re-issued. The barcodes in your Swans Account won't unlock access to accessible seats on Ticketek. If this applies to you, please contact the club no later than 5pm, Monday, September 9 to obtain these. Further details can be found on our Finals Hub here.
Q: My barcode isn’t working for the Grand Final member ballot.
A: Try removing any letters at the front of the barcode (i.e. Ad) and any commas or spaces at the front/end of barcode numbers when adding these into Ticketek. Each barcode must be entered on a separate line in the box proved as per the below example:
111111111111
000000000000
123456789101
If the issue continues contact Membership Support to check your barcodes.
Q: Can I buy extra tickets for friends and family in the member pre-sale?
A: Member barcodes will only allow the purchase of 1 ticket per barcode – up to a maximum of 8 tickets per transaction (meaning you would need 8 member barcodes to this transaction).
Further to this, if the member would like to share their barcodes with friends or family to purchase tickets because they cannot make the Grand Final, this is fine.
Q: I am an AFL member with Swans Club Support - how can I buy a ticket to a Swans Final?
A: AFL Gold members have access to purchase a ticket to the AFL Grand Final through the AFL. AFL Silver and Bronze members with Swans Club of Support can register for a Grand Final in the member ballot (should the Sydney Swans qualify) in Priority Group Three.
Q: I am a Premiership Club member and missed the Priority One group time. What should I do?
A: We recommend you register in the current or next time period available on Ticketek and then contact Sydney Swans Membership Support with your Ticketek Account ID and transaction number for the ballot.
Q: I am trying to register for the member ballot but Ticketek is saying my card is blocked? What can I do?
A: See trouble shooting steps on the Ticketek website here > https://help.ticketek.com.au/hc/en-us/articles/360001885348-The-website-says-my-card-has-been-blocked.

Q: How does the AFL decide who can purchase tickets to the Grand Final?
A: The AFL and Victorian Government work together to ensure the Grand Final Ticketing process is fair and equitable. You can view the 2024 Toyota Grand Final ticketing scheme here.
Q: Ticketek is saying there is no more AFL Grand Final tickets available, but I have seen some for sale? Should I buy these?
A: You should only buy tickets via official and authorised AFL Ticketing agents. Tickets for resale through unauthorised channels may be scams
Q: How do we know who the official seller is?
A. We understand that this can be confusing as these resellers spend a lot of money to ensure they're the top result when searching online for 'AFL tickets', etc. The AFL and Club websites will always direct to the official seller for any game. Links to purchase tickets online can be found at afl.com.au/tickets.
Q: How can these resellers provide guarantees on the validity of the tickets?
A. These guarantees are not verified by the AFL, clubs or venues. Some resellers may offer you a refund after you lodge a complaint, but no AFL venue is under any obligation to honour tickets purchased via unauthorised re-sellers.
Q: What is the AFL doing to fight against these resellers?
A. The AFL has taken steps to limit the access of professional ticket scalpers by limiting the number of tickets that can be purchased in one transaction restricting the ability to print tickets until closer to the match reviewing common resale sites and cancelling tickets that can be identified when advertised above face value Unfortunately, even with additional legislation against reselling, the practice cannot be completely prohibited. Many of these sites are based outside of Australia and therefore aren’t bound by any Australian legislation.
Q: I got a Grand Final ticket and now I cannot use it, am I allowed to resell this?
A. Under the Major Events Act 2009 (VIC) it is illegal to on-sell or advertise for resale AFL Grand Final tickets at a premium or as part of a package, unless the seller is authorised in writing by the AFL. We suggest calling Ticketek to discuss a refund.
Q: I have tickets but how do I find accommodation and flights?
A. The Sydney Swans do not have any accommodation or flight placements on hold for members. We strongly recommend that you continue to keep an eye out for additional flights and accommodation openings across the week.
