The team showed a lot of fight to get back into Wednesday’s match against Essendon. What was the message at half time?
We just had really clear messaging at half time of what we were doing well and what we needed to tidy up going into the second half. The girls had great belief and it showed with our second half performance.
What were the takeaways from the match?
It was quite an even game in the end, a game of moments and both teams had them, we just conceded too many moments in the first half that left us chasing tail in the second. So, the key is still looking for that consistent four quarter performance but we can take a lot of momentum into our next game with how we finished.
Back at home this Sunday for a match at Henson Park. What have you made of Geelong’s season so far?
It's always good to be back at Henson! The Cats haven’t had the season they were probably hoping for but we know they are a quality opposition, as seen with their match against Hawthorn. They are able to score quickly and have dangerous players across the park.
With a few key players out with injury this season, who do you believe has stood up well in their place?
I think someone like Sofia Hurley has really stepped up this season, she has also got better and better with every game but her leadership with her voice on the field has also been first class. She has been really important to the group out there.
Sunday coincides with our Pride Game. What does this game mean to you?
Pride Game is a way to celebrate everyone for who they are, and that message spreads across the whole club and to all of our fans and we can’t wait to represent the guernsey with pride.
