A heartbreaking loss at the hand of the Gold Coast Suns last week. What were the takeaways from the match?

It was a heartbreaking end to the game. We didn’t take our opportunities when we had them and unfortunately the Suns took theirs when it mattered most. So, a lot of learnings for the group.

Who do you believe stood up and impressed in our late surge?

Players like Sarah Grunden really impressed with her pressure and ability to compete, as well as our co-captain in Lucy McEvoy who led from the front with her footy smarts in trying to get the team over the line.

We travel to Brisbane this week for a tough match against the Lions. What have you made of their season so far?

The Lions are a quality side and have been for some time. They are coming off a loss so they will be out to make amends and we expect a fierce contest.

Laura Gardiner and Julie O’Sullivan are a test for this Sunday. What do they individually bring to the team?

Laura is such a workhorse, her ability to get from contest to contest is at an elite level. Julie is a really tough competitor who offers the ability to shutdown an opponent, but also provide rebound for us off halfback which is really important.

With just two games left of the home and away season, what do you hope to see from the squad?

Every game is about continual improvement, no matter where we sit on a ladder, we want to finish off the season strong and also set ourselves up for next season along the way.
