After a season of record membership and record crowds we’re excited to welcome the fixture for the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, announced on Thursday by the AFL.

We’re kicking things off with back-to-back home games at the SCG starting with an Opening Round blockbuster against Hawthorn under lights on Friday, March 7, followed by a Grand Final rematch against the Brisbane Lions in Round 1 the following Saturday afternoon.

Cross-town rivalries will be reignited when the Sydney Derby begins another chapter at the SCG in Round 8, while the Swans will head to Homebush for a return clash with GWS in Round 20.

Marn Grook returns to the SCG in Round 10 to open Sir Doug Nicholls Round with a Friday night match up against Carlton. Other clubs set to take to the SCG in 2025 include Port Adelaide, the Adelaide Crows, the Western Bulldogs, Fremantle, North Melbourne, Essendon, and Geelong.

A Saturday night clash with the Kangaroos in Round 4 marks the first of five opportunities to see the Swans in Melbourne. Sydney will play three games at Marvel Stadium and two at the MCG, with three of the four timeslots announced so far being family-friendly afternoon games.

Earlier this week it was announced that Sydney will play in prime time at Gather Round with a Friday night match up against Collingwood at Adelaide Oval – one of two occasions the Swans will play in South Australia. The red and white will also make two trips to both Queensland and Western Australia.

The AFL has released dates and times for games up until Round 15, with opponents locked in from Round 16 onwards but dates and times for those games to be confirmed later next year. Overall, the Swans have three games on Friday night, six on Saturday and five on Sunday in the first block of the fixture.

Sydney Swans CEO Tom Harley said there’s a lot to look forward to in the year ahead.

“Commencing the season at the SCG with back-to-back home games is a great reward for our members and fans who brought plenty of energy and sell-out crowds to our home games this year, and we’re thrilled that the AFL has committed to Opening Round once again,” Harley said.

“We’ve got some terrific timeslots against the big Melbourne clubs, including the opportunity to open Sir Doug Nicholls Round against Carlton in Marn Grook at the SCG, and we’re excited to be playing Collingwood on Friday night in Gather Round. Meanwhile, our Round 23 match against Geelong will be Member Thank You Round.

“Next year marks 20 years since the 2005 Premiership and we will make sure there’s an opportunity to celebrate at one of our home games next year, while we are also committed to playing in a Pride Game and are still working through what that looks like.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank our members who have already committed to the team next season. We are working hard to ensure you get the best access and the best experience, so keep an eye on your inbox as we will have announcements on some exciting news and events in the months ahead.”

Sydney Swans 2025 members will receive information via email in the coming weeks about the Opening Round ticket pre-sale to bring guests and the Gather Round ticket pre-sale. An initial release of Opening Round tickets will be made available on Thursday 5 December, while Gather Round tickets go on sale for members on Tuesday, December 10 at 9:30am AEDT.
