Co-captains Chloe Molloy and Lucy McEvoy have been nominated AFL Players’ Best Captain Award, presented by The Diamond Guys.

After suffering an ACL injury early in the season, Molloy was forced to take a leadership role from the sideline. Speaking to Sydney Swans Media in a end-of-season review, she expressed her desire to continue impact the program.

“I can’t physically be out there but how can a conversation (with a teammate) help," Molloy shared.

Similarly, 23-year-old McEvoy was forced to develop her leadership skills on the field through the squad's injury challenges and condensed fixture.

Rounding out nominations on Monday is Alice Mitchell for the AFL Players’ Most Courageous Player Award, proudly presented by Tackle Your Feelings. The key defender played 17 consecutive games across 2023 and 2024 before missing out on Round 10 this year due to injury.

Mitchell spent time both in the ruck and down back this season averaging 4.8 tackles and 1.2 intercept marks.

Winners will be revealed on Tuesday evening.
