The Sydney Swans have received pick 49 the AFLW Draft in a trade with Fremantle for forward Bella Smith.

Smith played 26 games for the Swans AFLW side since arriving from Collingwood for the 2022 season.

Smith was a valuable member of the forward line booting 11 goals over her three seasons in the red and white, including a haul of five in the last game of 2024 against West Coast.

AFLW Senior Coach Scott Gowans said Smith was always a valuable contributor.

“Bella was an excellent focal point in our forward line in her three seasons at the footy club,” Gowans said.

“She took the chance to come to Sydney as a foundation player in our first season, and we thank her for that.

“On behalf of the club, I wish her well in her next chapter.”
