Senior coach Dean Cox has named his 22 to take on the Gold Coast Suns this Friday night for the AAMI Community Series. The two sides will clash in one last pre-season hit out ahead of Opening Round.
The Swans will receive an added boost with veteran Jake Lloyd named on the wing, after missing last week's match simulation against GWS with foot bone bruising.
Fan favourites Errol Gulden, Nick Blakey and Will Hayward will feature in the match, while senior players Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner, Dane Rampe and Lewis Melican have been rested.
First-year players Riak Andrews, Tom Hanily and William Green will get their first taste on AFL footy, the trio named on the interchange bench.
Despite a strong outing against the GWS Giants last Friday, Brodie Grundy will sit out of tomorrow night's clash after sustaining a knock to his right knee in training. In good news, he remains a test for Opening Round against Hawthorn. The side will also be without captain Callum Mills who is rehabbing a torn plantar fascia.
The Swans impressed in their first pre-season match with GWS last week at Tramway Oval, walking away with a 51-point victory. Amartey bagged six majors for the side, young gun Braeden Campbell kicked four while a further nine players hit the scoreboard.
Speaking after the match, assistant coach Ben Matthews said the coaching group was conscious of getting plenty of playing time for the squad ahead of next Friday's blockbuster match against the Hawks.
"We are really trying to get minutes into as much as our main squad as we possibly can," Matthews shared.
"We only have the two practice games and no week off in between so we have to manage the minutes we get into our player efficiently and effectively so they make sure they are alright for Opening Round."
The aforementioned Amartey fronted the media on Wednesday this week and added that the squad is growing in confidence ahead of the season opener.
"I think everyone's got great confidence in each other and yourselves, and I think our team, we've gelled so much and come together as a group so much."
