Dean Cox on Round 1

Senior coach Dean Cox appeared in his weekly press conference on Tuesday to discuss Round 1 and his focus to tackle the reigning Premier's Brisbane.

"We've got to make sure that, first of all, we're fierce around the contest, they (Brisbane) were the number one contested possession team last year and that's what they showed against Adelaide," Cox said.

"They've got some unbelievable talent through that area of the ground as well so that's the first part I'll be looking at."

Injury Update

Unfortunately, the Club's injury list continues to grow, as it was revealed on Tuesday that Taylor Adams will miss three to four weeks with a low-grade strain. The midfielder sustained the injury in last Friday's game against Hawthorn and was unable to complete the match.

New draftee Riak Andrews suffered a high-grade right AC joint injury in the VFL practice match on the weekend and will be reviewed by specialists this week. Indhi Kirk and Aaron Francis both suffered concussions in the VFL practice match and will be managed per the AFL Concussion Guidelines.
