Sydney is heading west this weekend to take on Fremantle at Optus Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Defender Dane Rampe spoke to the media on Thursday ahead of the clash.

On Fremantle

"I'm thinking it's going to be a pretty physical game, they got out-hunted and out-tackled against Geelong last week and knowing them and the proud club they are, traditionally they've been a really hot contested pressure ball team, so they're going to want to respond just as we are, it should be a really exciting game."

On the 0-2 start to the season

"I think you've just got to keep perspective a little bit, we've come up against two of arguably the premiership favourites at the moment, two really good quality teams. We've got a few out and while we don't want to use that as an excuse, we've been buoyed by the fact that we've been competing. We've let ourselves down in a couple of areas, but we've been there where we get the early part of the year right and then fall away in the middle part. So we're not overly concerned with the scoreboard or the ladder at the moment, what we know is that we're diving into what we need to and where I feel like we need to be at the moment."

On Chad Warner

"Chaddy has been great, obviously it's hard for a kid that age to deal with the ongoing pressure but at the end of the day, he's got a big decision to make... we just want Chaddy to be happy and ultimately being himself and enjoying footy, because we're going to get the best out of him regardless of what happens.  I'm a firm believer that this whole contract thing is so far out of our control apart from the environment we can create for him and he'll make a decision at the end of the year, whatever that is, I support that as a mate but we just want what's best for him."

On Dean Cox as Senior Coach

"It's been great, I've only had Horse my whole career and I've been incredibly lucky as well. Coxy's just brought in a few fresh perspectives and a new outlook on life. I'm enjoying working under him and I really like his coaching style and I think the boys do too so we're hanging out to get a first win for him so we can cover him in Gatorade."

On Riley Bice

"He looks well and truly comfortable out there and although unfortunate for Juzzy (Justin McInerney) what that does is provide Bicey with an opportunity for a full game this week. We're really excited, he's looked really sharp and we're excited by the bounce that he brings, whether that be off the wing or off the halfback so excited to see what he does with another game with us."
