The museum takes visitors on a journey, from the club's humble beginnings in South Melbourne in 1874 to its modern-day triumphs. From prized premiership cups to stories detailing the heroics of Hall of Fame members and Brownlow medallists, the Peter Weinert Museum showcases the people, events, and achievements that have shaped the Sydney Swans today.

Visitors will be immersed in a blend of digital and interactive displays, captivating memorabilia and rare artefacts, including premiership caps from as far back as 1888, a guernsey from the 1918 premiership win, Bob Skilton’s three Brownlow medals and Ryan O’Keefe’s 2012 Norm Smith Medal.

Sydney Swans Chairman Andrew Pridham described the museum's opening as a landmark moment for the club.

“The Peter Weinert Museum is the jewel in the crown of our Sydney home, and we are immensely proud to open its doors to our members and fans," Pridham said.

Our club has come from humble beginnings, and it has stood the test of time because of the commitment and dedication of so many people, from football heroes to unsung heroes. Their stories deserved to be preserved and shared, and our museum does that and more, enabling visitors to see, touch and feel the rich history of our club.

“Bringing this museum to life has been a monumental undertaking, and to everyone who has played a part in it I extend a heartfelt thank you. To Peter Weinert and our generous donors, to the NSW and Federal Governments, and the AFL, who all contributed to make our new home possible, we thank you.

We are incredibly excited to open the doors of the Peter Weinert Museum and look forward to welcoming people to this unique Sydney Swans experience.”

NSW Minister for Sport Steve Kamper said the NSW Government proudly supported the development of the Peter Weinert Museum.

“Since its opening in 2023, Syndey Swans HQ has been supporting the development of promising young and high-performance Australian Rules players both on and off the field.

“The Peter Weinert Museum brings the incredible history of the Sydney Swans and South Melbourne to life, creating a link from the club’s beginnings to its incredible modern-day achievements.
