VFL Head Coach Jarrad McVeigh is expecting a tough contest against North Melbourne this weekend. Fresh off the bye, the Swans VFL side will travel to Arden Street Oval for a Sunday afternoon blockbuster.
McVeigh said he hopes to see an improved performance from his young side, who valiantly went down to the Magpies two weeks ago.
"It will be a really strong hit out, they played Box Hill on the weekend and were ahead at three quarter time, then just got run over in the end but they've got a lot of really strong, tall players down forward, their midfield group is really solid, some big bodies in there," McVeigh said.
"So we'll have our work cut out, we've got obviously a lot of young VFL players playing and some guys playing in their first and second games that had great experience the week before against Collingwood.
"We were really pleased with our performance, we didn't get the win on the board but we had a lot of guys fight it out and played a really strong brand of footy, so I'm expecting another improved performance this week again with a few more AFL listed players, which will be great."
McVeigh said the side had used the bye as an opportunity to tweak some things and focus on the fundamentals.
"We've just been focused on the way we play, getting our fundamentals right and our contested game," McVeigh said.
"The way we move the footy is just the three phases of the game of offence, defence and our scramble and transition, which is something that we're focused on, if we can get that right for the majority of the game, we think we can come away with a win.
"In Round 1, we got that stuff right, it was just our last finish into our forward line that let us down, we've worked a bit on connection and we'll see how that works."
