Round 7 v Richmond
Despite a gutsy third-quarter fightback, which saw the Swans reduce the 32-point half-time scoreline to just 14 points at the last break, the red and white suffered back-to-back losses for the first time in 2012, going down to Richmond by 29 points at the MCG.
A five-goal-to-nil opening quarter was the main reason behind the Swans loss, the third horror showing in as many seasons against the Tigers at the home of football.
Coach John Longmire said he was dissatisfied with the team’s inability to put pressure on Richmond, particularly early in the game.
“It took us until quarter-time before we made the decision to try and get back on some sort of even keel,” Longmire said after the match.
