A host of Chinese students were among the many beneficiaries of the Sydney Swans’ group ticketing program at Sunday’s clash with the Geelong Cats.
The club offers a unique group ticketing deal perfect for 10 or more people wanting to attend a Swans home game at the SCG.
UNSW student Alisa Yin, who studies a Masters of Financial Analysis, moved from China to Australia in 2014.
She had little idea as to what she was watching at her first Swans game in 2015, but Sunday’s match was much more familiar.
“At my first game in 2015 I didn’t even know which sport was being played, but on Sunday I went with an Aussie friend who knows all about the rules,” Yin told Swans Media.
“He was able to give a really good introduction to AFL in terms of the rules, how to score a goal, the two teams playing, the players on the ground and everything else.
“Although the Swans didn’t win it was great to be at the game. It was such an awesome atmosphere and I will definitely be back.”
Supporters receive a discounted price and a great range of benefits via the group ticketing program.
Group bundles are ideal for corporate business groups, local sports clubs, community groups and social groups.
