Lance Franklin is set to line up for his 300th match against St Kilda at the SCG on Saturday afternoon.

Franklin trained strongly with teammates on Tuesday morning as he looks to return from a hamstring injury that has seen him sidelined since Round 14.

Head of Football Charlie Gardiner said Franklin was expected to return to the side for his milestone match this weekend.

“Lance has trained solidly now for three weeks and put in another solid session this morning,” Gardiner said.

“From a medical perspective he has ticked all the boxes and the medical team are confident that he is ready to go.

“Assuming he gets through training on Thursday he will line up for his 300th game this weekend, which is very exciting.”

Retiring premiership player Jarrad McVeigh also joined teammates at training on Tuesday as he aims to return from injury and play a final match in red and white.

“Jarrad is desperate to play a last game for the Swans on Saturday,” Gardiner said.

“He needs to complete training this week, he trained solidly this morning but still has to get through a solid session on Thursday.

“We won’t make a decision on him until after Thursday when we will sit down with the medical team and make a decision on whether he has done enough to play.”
