A Sydney Swans Legend, an Indigenous leader, and an incredible man with incredible courage: Adam Goodes is one of Australia’s all-time sporting greats.

A documentary examining the final years of his AFL playing career will premiere on Friday night at the Sydney film festival.

Using only archival footage aired at the time, The Final Quarter looks at the treatment of Adam Goodes on and off the field.

The film will air on free-to-air television in the coming months and the Sydney Swans strongly encourage all Australians to watch it.

This is an opportunity to learn, so that what happened to Adam never happens again.

Sydney Swans staff and players have had the opportunity to see The Final Quarter. Here’s some of what has been said:

It was difficult to watch but the one thing I hope it does do is educate people.

              ~ Lance Franklin

I was upset, angry and just thinking 'did I do enough, as a mate'. His legacy will reach far beyond football and for generations to come.

              ~ Jarrad McVeigh

It was really inspirational to see the way Adam handled the whole thing and the way the Swans family came together.
