Sydney Swans defender Jake Lloyd has put pen to paper, signing a four-year contract extension to remain in red and white until at least the end of 2022.
The Swans recruited Lloyd from Horsham in country Victoria at the Rookie Draft in November of 2012.
Lloyd hasn't missed a beat since making his senior debut in Round 5, 2014, playing 115 of a possible 118 games and becoming the quickest Swan in history to reach 100 games.
The 25-year-old had arguably his best season in 2018, playing all 23 games and averaging 28 disposals, seven marks and six rebound 50s.
Swans Head of Football Tom Harley says it’s great news to have Lloyd commit for the long term.
“It’s really exciting that Jake has committed his future to Sydney, signing a four-year contract extension with the Club,” Harley said.
“Since making his debut in 2014, Jake has really made the most of his opportunities, emerging to become a key member of our back six.
“Jake’s the ultimate professional around the Club, he’s an emerging leader and he's a key component of our team going forward.”
Lloyd joins some of the team’s brightest prospects to commit to Sydney in 2018, including Tom McCartin, Aliir Aliir, Will Hayward, Ben Ronke, Ryley Stoddart, Matt Ling and Sam Naismith.
Lloyd is currently overseas and unavailable for interview.
