Die-hard Sydney Swans member David Fox is $2,500 richer after winning the 2018 Captain’s Tipping Competition.
The Castle Hill resident tipped the perfect margin in Sydney’s clash with Carlton in Round 11, the Swans’ match with the West Coast Eagles in Round 13 and Round 19’s GWS-St Kilda fixture en route to a two-point competition win.
The spurt of cash has come in handy as Fox is travelling through England, Ireland and Scotland with his wife.
He’s suiting up for a friend’s wedding, seeing the sights of the world and enjoying a well-earned break from work.
Fox has been a member since 2015 and said he was “rapt” to win the competition.
“It was fantastic news,” Fox said.
“It makes your holiday that little bit more special having a bit more spending money.
“I didn’t think I would win. I thought there would’ve been a lot of other people out there with greater ability to pick the winners throughout the season than myself. I only started following AFL about six years ago. I was a rugby man through-and-through and am still fairly new to AFL.”
The Captain’s Tipping Competition is a benefit of Premium membership.
