The Sydney Swans will do all they can to improve their list in the upcoming exchange period.
Dan Hannebery and Gary Rohan informed the club on Wednesday they’re open to a trade home to Victoria during the October trade period.
Hannebery, a three time All Australian, indicated his desire to join St Kilda after 208 games for the Swans including a premiership, Rising Star award and taking out the 2015 AFLCA Player of the Year.
Swans players will continue with their exit interviews on Thursday as the Club determines the make up of its list for the 2019 season.
Head of Football Tom Harley said the club would be looking at all options presented in the over the off-season.
“Clearly we have a couple of things on the go with regards to Dan and Gary as well as some further list management decisions that will be made in the next few days and weeks,” Harley said.
“They will be considered decisions and we will work our way through that.
“Our modus operandi is pretty clear in that we want to get better and we need to identify those areas where we can get better.
“We will certainly be exploring all opportunities and options to ensure that we are giving ourselves the best opportunity to improve.”
The trade period officially gets underway on October 8 and runs for a total of nine days.
“The important thing to note with the trade period is that it is in October after the AFL Grand Final,” Harley said.
“Our season ended disappointingly on Saturday, we are exiting the current senior players at the moment and our NEAFL players are playing in a Grand Final on Sunday.
“It is really important as a Club that we get behind that (NEAFL side).”
