Sydney Swans midfielder Isaac Heeney is one of three changes for Sydney’s clash with Geelong at the SCG on Thursday night.

Heeney suffered concussion in Sydney’s match with Richmond last week, while Gary Rohan (hamstring tightness) and James Rose (shoulder) will also miss the Round 16 opener.

Dan Robinson, Dean Towers and Robbie Fox have all been named to return to senior football.

Sydney coach John Longmire said it was important to be cautious with Heeney.

“We didn’t want to push him at all,” Longmire said.

“He was ruled out and hopefully he’s right for next week.”

Longmire said Robinson, Towers and Fox were ready to go.

“We didn’t play those three guys on the weekend,” Longmire said.

“They sat out our NEAFL game based upon our Thursday game and their form has been really solid all year. We’re really confident they can give us something.”

Longmire said Rose faced time on the sidelines after sustaining an injury in the Richmond clash.

“Rose did his shoulder in the last quarter of the game and he might be out for a number of weeks.”
