Sydney Swans captain Josh Kennedy and defender Jake Lloyd both polled votes in the AFL Coaches’ Association’s Champion Player of the Year award after the loss to Richmond last Thursday.
Kennedy complemented a game-high 36 disposals with nine tackles, eight clearances and six inside 50s to collect five votes.
The three-time All-Australian was enormous at the contest against a star-studded Tigers midfield boasting Dustin Martin, Trent Cotchin and Kane Lambert.
Lloyd gathered 34 possessions and eight marks to earn one vote, Richmond’s Jack Riewoldt (10 votes), Lambert (seven), Nick Vlastuin (six) and Toby Nankervis (one) also fired.
