It started 17 years ago when Sydney Swans players decided to make a visit to the local hospital to visit sick kids and has since grown into a long-standing partnership and legacy that has been passed on throughout the years.
The Sydney Swans and charity partner Redkite will celebrate this partnership at #SwansRedDay, when the Swans host Fremantle at the SCG on May 19 – a partnership that the Sydney Swans are very proud of.
Redkite provide essential support to children and young people with cancer, and their families. Redkite is there throughout the cancer journey, from the moment of diagnosis until after treatment finishes.
At #SwansRedDay in 2018 we are encouraging our fans to wear red and give generously to the Redkite volunteers who will be roaming the Driver Avenue precinct.
There is plenty of fun planned for the whole family, including celebrity photo opportunities, the Redkite fan zone, special guests on the big screen, and the first-ever #SwansRedDay ‘Wave of Support’ (more on this to come…). Not to mention two big games of footy including our crucial clash with Fremantle which will be played for the Redkite Cup.
The Sydney Swans Foundation have provided limited edition #SwansRedDay wigs, which will be available to purchase for just $5 from Redkite volunteers before the game, with 100% of the proceeds going to Redkite’s essential services for children and young people with cancer.
