Small forward Tom Papley has been ruled out of Thursday night’s clash against Richmond as he manages an ongoing hip injury.

Papley missed the Swans Round 11 win over Carlton as he was managed and is set to miss tomorrow night’s top of the table clash.

The small forward has booted 12 goals from 12 games in season 2018.

Coach John Longmire said he expected Papley to be in contention to return for next week’s match up against Geelong.

“Tom has a bit of a hip issue at the moment, he missed a couple of weeks ago with a hip and unfortunately hurt it again in the West Coast game.”

“He didn’t have time to come up for this week’s game given it is a Thursday game and we are not sure whether he will be right or not for next week.”

“We just have to hope that he gets himself right now.”

Meantime veteran Jarrad McVeigh and young forward James Rose have been recalled to the side to face the Tigers.
