"Buddy!" ... "Kennedy!" ... "Heeney!" ... "Cyggy!"
Those were the sounds echoing from a sun-bathed SCG as hundreds of junior members joined the Sydney Swans' playing group on Tuesday for this year's Swans Squad Footy Clinic.
The players took a total of 527 participants, divided into two groups and watched proudly by parents and guardians, through a series of drills across a number of stations spread out around the hallowed turf.
The stations focused on the basic skills of the game including kicking, marking, handballing, tackling and goal-kicking, the latter proving the most popular as it gave a chance for the kids to rub shoulders with skipper Josh Kennedy and superstar forward Lance Franklin.
Who better to learn the tricks of the goal-kicking trade off the 10th best forward in the competition's history?
Between the clinics, there was an autograph session where a most of the playing list was on hand to sign everything from hats, guernseys, posters and footys.
Another popular member of the team, Cyggy, also made his way around, giving nearly every member a hug and a high feather as kids waited patiently for a signature from their favourite players.
The clinic, exclusive to Junior or Swans Squad members, is an annual event and run during the mid-year school holidays.
