2010 Club Champion Kieren Jack has passed a fitness test today and been named in the Swans side to take on Richmond at the SCG this Sunday.

However coach John Longmire says Jack will be monitored tomorrow and Sunday morning to make sure he’s ready to play in the midfield after a six week layoff for an ankle injury.

“He got through the training session and trained really well,’’ Longmire said. “He felt good immediately after training so we’ll wait to see how he pulls up tomorrow.

“It is looking positive, but it is the first time he’s joined in the main training session for a number of weeks so the real key is how he pulls up. We’ve got the flexibility to even wait until Sunday to make a final decision on whether he plays.’’

Longmire said Jack joined in the all training drills and looked sharp.

“He moved well and he was pleased with how he went so the last thing we will look to tick off is how he pulls up.’’

While some players have had to come back to the senior side through the reserves, Longmire said he was confident Jack would be fit enough to run out a full game if he plays on Sunday.

“He has been able to do a lot of off-legs work and we’re confident in that program,’’ he said.

“Kieren has done a lot of running on our Alter G treadmill for a number of weeks and has run and trained this week so we think he’s in good nick.’’

Andrejs Everitt, who was the substitute last week in the win over Brisbane, has been omitted from the side. He will be an emergency, along with Jarred Moore and Lewis Johnston.

The Swans meet Richmond at the SCG at 2pm on Sunday.

The Swans reserves take on Queanbeyan in the curtain raiser at the SCG, starting at 10.40am.
