Friday night's semi-finalists can expect to be met by wet conditions with rain forecast to hit the MCG later in the evening. 

As Geelong and Sydney gear up for their clash at 7.50pm AEST, the weather forecast is predicting a 90 per cent chance of increasing showers as the day goes on. 

Sydney’s prolific midfield is unlikely to be fazed by wet conditions with the toughened bodies of Josh Kennedy, Dan Hannebery and Luke Parker likely to relish a hard-fought slog. 

Likewise, the Swans' tall forwards Lance Franklin, Sam Reid and Callum Sinclair are in form and will be difficult to stop despite the conditions. 

The second semi-final between Greater Western Sydney and West Coast at Spotless Stadium on Saturday night will be met with vastly different conditions.
