First round draft selection Oliver Florent remains a chance for an early season debut based on his performance against North Melbourne on Sunday.
The 18-year-old booted two goals in his first competitive hit out for the Swans playing across the half forward line.
It was his display of both skill by foot and poise with the football in hand that shone through.
Head of Development John Blakey said Florent was well and truly still in contention for selection in the side to take on Port Adelaide in the season opener.
“Ollie certainly has great skill, reads the game very well and is able to find space then use the ball really well,” Blakey said.
“We are really happy with the way he is able to hit a teammate and create scoring opportunities for us.
“He is not out of the picture at all.”
Florent was just one of the young Swans to impress in Sunday’s JLT Community Series match with Jack Maibaum and Darcy Cameron also receiving praise from the coaching staff.
Isaac Heeney also showed promise as he spent majority of his game time playing through the midfield.
“Obviously Isaac will go through the middle a lot more than he has in the past,” Blakey said.
“Tom Mitchell has obviously moved on from the club so that opens up opportunities for other guys through the middle of the ground.”
“We have a number of options that can go through there and those boys will feature.”
