In the lead up to Friday night's Club Champion Dinner, Sydney Swans Media will discuss the serious contenders in the running to take out the coveted award.

Lance Franklin

Lance Franklin returned to the top of the tree this season as the competition's best goal-kicker, taking out the Coleman Medal on the way to booting 73 goals from his 24 games.

It took Franklin's incredible 10-goal haul in Round 23 to overtake West Coast's Josh Kennedy and claim the coveted award (with 69 goals in the regular season), his second in red and white and fourth of his glittering career.

He'll no doubt feature in prominently in the Bob Skilton Medal count, the 30-year-old enjoying a third-place finish in the 2014 count, the last time he'd won the Coleman Medal, while his fifth placing in this year's Brownlow Medal voting also bodes well.

Franklin kicked four or more goals in 10 games this season which means the coaches would have had a hard time overlooking the walking highlight reel for maximum votes, while his durability this season as one of six players to feature in every game, you'd expect, will also see him be there right at the end.
