In the lead up to Friday night's Club Champion Dinner, Sydney Swans Media will discuss the serious contenders in the running to take out the coveted award.
Josh Kennedy
Josh Kennedy is right in the mix to win yet another Bob Skilton Medal after another quality and highly-consistent season.
He’s already etched his name on the honour roll but can the 29-year-old become the fourth player in the Club’s history to win a fourth club championship.
The stats certainly say he’ll be right up there as a serious contender, the first-year skipper proving the captaincy is a nice colour on him after averaging a team-high 28 disposals in season 2017.
He was also at his contested ball-winning best, with only Geelong’s Patrick Dangerfield and Melbourne’s Clayton Oliver ahead of him for average contested disposals competition-wide.
We’ve come to know Kennedy’s level of durability, having only missed four games since arriving at the Swans in 2010.
But, due to troublesome hamstring injury, Kennedy missed three games this season.
Will that hurt the prolific midfielder at the pinch, or will that be water of the (Swan’s) back?
Safe to say his 23 votes and fourth-place finish in this year’s Brownlow Medal bodes well for him in the Sydney Swans’ night of nights.
