Star forward Lance Franklin has been cleared by the Match Review Panel of an incident involving Carlton defender Alex Silvagni.

The match review panel assessed contact between the Sydney Swans’ Lance Franklin and Carlton’s Alex Silvagni from the first quarter of Saturday’s match.

Franklin makes high contact with an open hand and a free kick was paid at the time for the contact.

It was the view of the panel the force used was below that required to constitute a report. No further action was taken.
