Sydney Swans ruckman Callum Sinclair is expected to be fit to start pre-season training with his teammates when they return next month.

In his first season at the Club, Sinclair missed the last two months of the season after going down with a knee injury.

The 27-year-old played 16 matches for the season before being struck down by injury in the lead up to the finals.

Sinclair said he was confident of joining in with his teammates from day one of pre-season training.

“Moving to a new club it was a bit of an adjustment but the boys made it easier before an unfortunate end to the year with a knee injury,” he said.

“The rehab guys are really good and they have got me in a position where I will be able to do a full pre-season.

“The knee and the rest of the body is feeling really strong so in that regard it is a positive.”

Young ruckman Sam Naismith stepped up in the absence of Sinclair as he took on most of the workload during the Grand Final.

Sinclair said it was positive to see so many good young players coming through the Club.

“The strength of the list and the depth that we have got is very promising and playing in a Grand Final this year is a really good sign for a young group.”

“Hopefully in the coming years we can go one step further and I hope to be a part of it.”
