The Sydney Swans look set to regain Josh Kennedy and Ben McGlynn for Friday night’s blockbuster against Hawthorn at the MCG.
Kennedy (hamstring) and McGlynn (leg) both missed the loss to the Tigers, but Swans General Manager of Football Tom Harley says both are expected to be available to play against their former team.
“Josh Kennedy trained last Thursday – we trained in a night session leading into the game against Richmond – and he had some hamstring tightness,” Harley told the HCF injury update.
“He’s symptom free at the moment so he’s available this week, which is great news.
“Ben McGlynn had a cork on a cork, a very serious one, and we’ve had to treat that with a lot of respect.
“He didn’t play last week and we certainly hope he’s available for selection this week – all things being equal he will be.”
In further good news, forward Sam Reid is a step closer to playing for the first time this season.
The 24-year-old has been cleared to play after recovering from a hamstring injury, but he will have to wait another week as the Swans NEAFL team has a bye this weekend.
Meanwhile promising midfielder Dan Robinson has had shoulder surgery and will be sidelined for about 12 weeks.
