Superstar forward Lance Franklin has been nominated for the 2016 AFL Goal of the Year.
Seventy metres out, an open goal square with the game on the line? Leave it to Bud.
Franklin’s all important long bomb in Round 9 against Hawthorn at the MCG has been named one of the three finalists to take out the Goal of the Year crown.
It will be stiff opposition for Franklin who will have to beat Adelaide small forward Eddie Betts and North Melbourne speedster Shaun Atley.
Franklin has won the award once before when he was crowned Goal of the Year winner in 2013.
The Mark and Goal of the Year finalists were selected by the All Australian selection panel from the fans' weekly winners.
Chaired by AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan, the panel consists of Kevin Bartlett, Luke Darcy, Mark Evans, Danny Frawley, Glen Jakovich, Cameron Ling, Matthew Richardson and Warren Tredrea.
