Midfielder Jake Lloyd will be monitored throughout the week as he looks to overcome concussion suffered late in Sunday’s win against Fremantle.

Lloyd played no further part in the match after a heavy collision with Fremantle defender Zac Dawson with just 10 minutes left to play.

General Manager of Football Tom Harley says Lloyd will be given every opportunity to line up against Port Adelaide on Saturday.

“Lloyd played no further part in the game and we did all the appropriate tests after the game,” Harley said.

“We will assess how he goes (and) go through all the protocols for a return to play this week, but it is still very early to make a call on that.

“Initial stages are that he is recovering well and we are hopeful that he gets up.”

Sam Reid’s hopes of playing some football in 2016 remain alive with the key position player continuing to recover from Achilles issues.

Harley says it’s a continual issue that needs to be managed as Reid looks to return to the field before the end of the season.

“We are getting to a point now where the end of season is not too far away so we are looking at the best ways to get him up to play,” Harley said.

“It is a ‘wait and see’ at the moment, which is clearly frustrating for everyone – but it should be mentioned no more frustrating than for Sam himself.”

Ruckman Kurt Tippett increased his running program on Tuesday morning at the SCG and he remains on track for a return in Round 22.
