Sydney Swan Daniel Hannebery has recovered from a bout of concussion suffered in Saturday night’s win over Essendon in Melbourne.

The young midfielder was subbed out of the game in the third quarter after clashing with Essendon’s Alwin Davey.

Swans physiotherapist Matt Cameron said Hannebery had not suffered any lasting effects following the collision.

“He had a bump to the head and to the shoulder and because he had some symptoms of concussion he was subbed out of the game,” Cameron told SwansTV.

“He’s feeling pretty good, and he’s due to start training on the weekend, so he’s going to be fine to play.”

In other injury news, Swans father-son recruit Tom Mitchell was ruled out of last week’s reserves clash with Queanbeyan with a knee complaint.

Cameron said the club were taking a cautious approach with the 19-year-old.

“His knee tendonitis problem has slightly returned, so we’ve taken a conservative approach and pulled him out of last week’s game to give him two weeks with the bye,” he said.

“He should be back running next week.”

Fellow Swans youngsters Jed Lamb and Jordan Lockyer were also unable to play in the reserves match, but Cameron said both players are recovering well from their respective injuries.

“Jed has got some shin pain and he’s still not running, but we’re hoping he’ll be able to start running next week,” he said.

“Jordan is rehabilitating from a hamstring injury and he’s up and running, and running pretty quickly at the moment, so he’s due to start training next week with the team.

“We’ll see how his overall fitness is, being a young player we’d like to get him back to real full fitness and attack the second half of the year.”

Cameron also confirmed that Swans co-captain Adam Goodes remains on track for a return to the field after this weekend bye.

“His program is on track at this stage,” he said

“He’s running pretty fast at the moment and he’s due to join the team training sessions next week and he’ll do some part of this weekend’s session.”

In light of this weekend’s bye, Cameron said the Swans will take a few days off before returning to training on Saturday in preparation for next Friday night’s clash with Geelong at the SCG.
