The NEAFL Swans will need to bring the right endeavour from the very first bounce on Saturday to account for Redland, according to coach Rhyce Shaw.
Shaw’s Swans hit the road for the second time already this season ahead of the top-of-the-table clash at Brisbane’s Leyshon Park.
Both sides are undefeated with the Swans coming off a come-from-behind win against GWS last weekend.
A strong second half proved the match-winner after Shaw’s men booted 11 of the last 14 goals to overrun their cross-town rivals.
Shaw said while the win was impressive and a confidence booster, his players can ill-afford a slow start against Redland.
“It’s a matter of attitude with our boys,” Shaw said.
“If we're enthusiastic for the contest, the rest will take care of itself. If we bring that aggression and run from the start I've got no doubt we'll play some good footy.
“I've had a look at a couple of their games. They're a really talented side and they play really well together. We'll have to be on our game to beat them on their home turf.”
The NEAFL Swans played Redland only once last season, coming away with a 55-point win at Blacktown International Sportspark.
Dean Towers, who performed strongly against the Giants with 21 disposals and a goal, was recalled to the senior side for the trip to Adelaide.
What Shaw loses in Towers, the first-year coach gains in Zak Jones and George Hewett after the duo were omitted.
“Two quality kids,” Shaw added.
“I have had a bit to do with them in my time. It'll be a good experience for me to coach them.
“Hopefully I can get the best out of them and they can push for senior selection again.”
Towers and co-captain Jarrad McVeigh were the two inclusions for Round 5, replacing Jones and Hewett in the selected side.
Tyrone Leonardis also goes out having been selected as a senior emergency.
