Veteran defender Ted Richard’s high flying mark against West Coast last weekend has seen him crowned Mark of the Year winner for Round 5.

Richards took the screamer in the final quarter of the game, soaring above teammate Kurt Tippett and Eagles Fraser McInnes and Nic Naitanui.

The hanger came despite Richards playing with a fractured eye socket that later needed surgery.

The 33-year-old went on to finish the game with best on ground honours.
