Swans speedster Gary Rohan comes off the long-term injury list this week and will be pressing his case to return to the senior side.
Rohan has been recovering from a hamstring injury and is yet to play this year.
General Manager of Football Tom Harley says the 24-year-old is very excited to be back.
“Gary Rohan’s in great form – well we haven’t seen him play yet – but he’s in great form in the way he is prancing around the offices at the moment. He’s really excited!” Harley smiled.
“He’s done a really good block of work now so we’re confident he will be able to contribute straight off the bat. We’ve still got match committee later in the week and Gary will certainly be discussed there.”
The Swans will need to make at least one change for Sunday’s clash with Brisbane at the Gabba, after veteran defender Ted Richards was ruled out for at least the next fortnight.
Harley says Richards played out his best on ground performance with a fractured eye socket.
“Testament to his courage, he (Richards) suffered an errant blow just before halftime; he has a small fracture in his eye socket,” Harley said on the HCF injury update.
“He had surgery on ANZAC Day morning and he’ll be out of the side for two-to-three weeks (but) he’s bounced back into the club. You wouldn’t even know it with Ted, he’s such a great person to have around and he’ll be sorely missed for the next couple of weeks.”
Meanwhile Jeremy Laidler will continue to be assessed during the week after suffering a concussion early in the match, while Dan Hannerbery will be right to line up for his 150th game after a finger in the eye left him sporting an eye patch over the weekend.
