The Sydney Swans recruiting team and coaches are hard at work ahead of next Friday’s National Draft to be held at the Hordern Pavilion.

The Swans will enter the draft with pick 9, 19, 46 and 49.

Starting from 8am each morning this week the recruiting team have presented to the coaches more than 40 potential draftees.

Recruiting and List Manager Kinnear Beatson said he was confident they would find a quality player with the first two selections in the draft.

“Our recruiting department is in Sydney at the moment going through our presentation to the coaches,” he said.

“We will go through things from looking at the vision of the players that will highlight their strengths and weaknesses to medical profiles.

“We will also look at their athletic profiles that we have stored on our Protrac system, look at physically what they have been able to do in the testing and look at the results are from the psych testing.”

Beatson said it was important to be forensic in their analysis of the draft prospects to ensure the coaching staff was aware of the talent pool available.

“Once we have done that we will look at the various types of players that are available at the picks that we will have in the draft.”

“This is a wart and all approach with the coaches because we believe we are better off working with the coaches to let them have a full understanding of potentially who may come into the Club.”

The National Draft will take place in Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Friday November 25.
