Experienced duo Ben McGlynn and Jeremy Laidler have pushed their cases for a senior recall with terrific efforts in the Swans win over Canberra in the NEAFL.

A seven goal opening quarter set up the convincing 97-point win at Manuka Oval on Saturday afternoon.

Among the action all afternoon McGlynn finished with 25 disposals, nine tackles and two goals to lead his team to victory.

Laidler (19 disposals) looked calm and collected across the half back line all afternoon as he set up his side’s attack from defence.

The Swans defence restricted Canberra to just one goal in the first half to set up the victory and maintain their position at the top of the NEAFL ladder.

Youngsters Harry Cunningham and Jordan Dawson (three goals) were among the best players creating plenty of spark across the half forward line.

Sitting on top of the ladder with just one loss for the season the Swans now turn their attention to Gold Coast when the teams clash at Blacktown International Sports Park on Saturday afternoon.
