Sydney Swans Director Lynn Ralph has advised the Board she will retire as a Director when her current term concludes at the Club’s Annual General Meeting in February, 2016.
Ms Ralph has been a Director since 2007 and prior to joining the Sydney Swans Board, was a member of the AFL NSW/ACT Commission.
In 2011, Ms Ralph played an instrumental role in founding L@SS (Ladies @ Sydney Swans). Since its establishment, L@SS has grown to a very active coterie for female supporters and currently has over 350 members.
Sydney Swans Chairman Andrew Pridham paid tribute to Ms Ralph for her contribution to the Club.
“Lynn has been a Director for nine years and over this time she has made a wonderful contribution to the Club,” he said.
“She has provided insightful counsel as a director and has been a valued member of the Club’s senior administration. In particular, Lynn has chaired the membership sub-committee, overseeing three consecutive years of record membership.
“We are delighted that Lynn has agreed to remain actively involved with the Club and will play a role in assessing the potential for the Swans to bid for a license in the AFL’s National Women’s League, as well as continue her role as the Chair of L@SS,” Pridham said.
The Club can announce that Tim Worner has accepted an invitation to be appointed to the Board.
This appointment will be effective at the AGM in February 2016.
“Hailing from Perth, Tim is a lifelong AFL supporter and is a dedicated member of the Sydney Swans,” Andrew Pridham said.
“We believe that Tim’s skills and experience, coupled with his passion for the code and the Swans, make him an ideal person to join our Board.
“Tim’s expertise in media will greatly assist the Club, particularly at a time of great change in the media landscape,” he said.
