The Sydney Swans are wary not to underestimate a Richmond side looking to bounce back from a a loss against top four contenders West Coast.

Richmond has the advantage over the Swans in recent times winning the last times the two teams met in Round 23 last season.

The Swans were undermanned in that contest with a number of players being rested ahead of the club’s 2014 finals series.

Star Adam Goodes said his side were adamant they needed to get off to a strong start against the Tigers in front of their home crowd.

“We just really need to come out on Friday night against the Tigers and set the tone early,” Goodes said.

“They are in good form, they are confident and they are going to come up here holding no fears.”

Goodes said the Swans were not taking the Tigers lightly after their strong recent form line.

“It doesn’t feel like we have had much of a break which is good, just four days to get away, relax and tune up the body,” he said.

“We come back here against a team that is in red hot form, they have won five of the last six games, and we are playing on our home deck so it is going to be a great challenge.”

“I hope we get a full house here on Friday night.”

Swans fans are urged to be in their seats by 7.20pm in order to take in the pre-game festivities celebrating the 10 year anniversary since the club’s 2005 premiership success.
