The Sydney Swans are thrilled to announce record membership again this season, with 61,912 supporters showing their passion for the red and white by joining the team.
The tally is up from last year’s total of 60,934 and represents massive growth from the 2,000 members the Swans had when they relocated from South Melbourne to Sydney in 1982.
Sydney is one of 11 AFL clubs to break their all-time membership record this season, with the league passing more than one million members for the second consecutive year.
Sydney Swans General Manager of Customer Jenny Chisholm has paid tribute to those who showed their commitment to the team.
“We cannot thank our members enough for everything they do, from signing up for membership each year to turning out at games and cheering on the team,” Chisholm said.
“Our members truly are the lifeblood of our football club. The way our members band together to support the team right throughout the year is nothing short of phenomenal.”
Everyone at the Sydney Swans would like to extend thanks to the 61,912 members who joined us on the journey through 2019.
The Swans have one more home game to round out the year, with Sydney to host St Kilda in Round 23 at the SCG on Saturday 24 August, 1:45pm to celebrate the Pride Game. Click here for tickets.
