Sydney’s Brett Kirk is set to take charge of the Swans this weekend when he coaches the senior team for Sunday’s clash with North Melbourne in Coffs Harbour.
Kirk will replace John Longmire in the hot seat for the Club’s opening round match of the JLT Community Series against the Kangaroos at C.ex Coffs International Stadium.
Defensive coach Henry Playfair will be given an opportunity to coach the team in their second match of the series against GWS, while Longmire will return to his familiar position for the final game of the pre-season against St Kilda in Albury.
Kirk and Playfair will assume the full duties of head coach, including pre-game and post-game commitments.
The former Swans captain returned to the Club where he played 241 games for the 2016 season, taking charge of the forward line.
Following Sunday’s match, the Swans will stay in Coffs Harbour for a three day training camp.
