LAST WEEK’S NEWS

It was a super win that came at the ultimate price. I’m talking about the season ending injury to our favourite Luke Parker (MID, $478,000). He was tragically injured in a tackle on just 55pts and therefore must be traded this week. All the best for a speedy recovery champ!

Tom Mitchell (FWD/MID, $496,000) did what he does best and that’s find plenty of the ball. He had 41 touches for his season best score of 138pts.

Jarrad McVeigh (DEF/MID, $492,000) and Josh Kennedy (MID, $571,000) both got busy scoring over 120pts and fellow onballer Dan Hannebery (MID, $594,000) had 31 touches for his 119pts.

Kurt Tippett (FWD/RUC, $429,000) has now averaged 94 in his last three games after his 73pts on Friday night and did enough as the #1 ruckman throughout the game.

ON THE RADAR

Let’s get down to business and if you’re like me, unfortunately we’ll need a replacement for Luke Parker. Here are my best three options for equal or cheaper value.

1 - Tom Mitchell (you’ll need +$18,000)

This is what I’ll be doing. He has averaged 120 in his last three games and should now avoid the vest for the remainder of the year.

2 – Rory Sloane (saves you $13,000)

Scored 136 last week and is back to his best after several injuries this year. He scored 160 on the Lions last year, meaning you’ll get an instant reward for trading him in.

3 – Trent Cotchin (equal value)

Cotchin scored 100 last week and has a dream run home playing Collingwood, Essendon and the Kangaroos.

TOP 5 SCORERS

#1 – 138 Tom Mitchell (FWD/MID, $496,000)
#2 – 125 Jarrad McVeigh (DEF/MID, $492,000)
#3 – 120 Josh Kennedy (MID, $571,000)
#4 – 119 Dan Hannebery (MID, $594,000)
#5 – 109 Kieren Jack (MID, $492,000)

WHAT’S COMING UP

This week the Swans play the Giants and I’m expecting our usual suspects to get amongst the points again. Dan Hannebery may have to contend with a tag from Bugg though, who held Travis Boak to just 71pts last week.  All the best for round 21.
